All vacancies for permanent jobs at CASG&FAC are advertised on this website. Depending upon the position, the vacancy may also be advertised in the Centralian Advocate and Koori Mail.

Anyone wishing to apply for a job advertised on this website must:

Position:    RECEPTIONIST

Award:     As per Employment Contract

Qualifications:  Office and Administrative Abilities

Significant Specifications:

  • Undertake receptions duties including answering all in-coming phone calls and notifying staff of messages received
  • Greet clients and visitors attending the CASG&FAC office and direct them to the appropriate staff member
  • Collect all in-coming mail each morning and despatch all out-going mail each afternoon and maintain the mail register
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager where neeeded
  • Organise meeting and workshops
  • Maintain file management systems
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for staff requiring to travel intra and interstate
  • arrange appointments and maintain diary comittments for the Link-Up Program
  • Maintain the Corporation File Register and make up new file covers as directed
  • Distribute relevant material to members, customers and clients of CASG&FAC
  • Keep the Corporation's Asset Register up-to-date and undertake an annual stock-take
  • Abide by confidentiality agreements, policies and best practice models of CASG&FAC
  • Must have a current driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain a current Police Clearance Check
  • Fulfil mandatory reporting requirements under both Commonwealth and Territory regulation in liaison with the Link-Up Counsellors and report to the relevant authorities
  • Ensure the safety of all clients and identify clients at risk in liaison with the Link-Up Counsellors
  • Delegation is nil
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace
  • Other duties as directed

Selection Criteria:

  •  Ability to use computers, especially word-processors, spreadsheets, data bases and email.
  • Ability to complete simple administrative tasks without the need for close supervision.
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues affecting the Stolen Generations and general issues around the Central Australian Region.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to clearly pass on telephone messages.
  • Demonstrated reliability.
  • Must have a current driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain a current Police Clearance Check

 

Position:    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Award:     As per Employment Contract

Qualifications:  Office and Administrative Abilities

Significant Specifications:

  • Assist at the Reception desk part-time
  • Answer all in-coming calls and assist visitors to the CASG&FAC office by directing them to the appropriate staff
  • Undertake the direction of the Manager, provide administrative support to the Link-Up Case Wrokers and Counsellors, including organising meetings and workshops
  • Arrange appointments and maintain diary comittments for the Link-Up Program
  • Maintain the Link-Up File Register and make up new file covers as directed
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for staff requiring to travel intra and interstate
  • Maintain and provide data entry for the Foxtrot Data Base System
  • Assist in Family Tracing activities (limited)
  • Abide by confidentiality agreements, policies and best practice models of CASG&FAC
  • Must have a current driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain a current Police Clearance Check
  • Delegation is nil
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace
  • Other duties as directed

Selection Criteria:

Position:     CASEWORKER

Award:      As per Employment Contract

Qualifications:  Recognised skills relevant to family tracing research and reunion management

Significant Specifications:

  • Assist in the case management of Link-Up clients separated from their families under past laws, practices and policies of Australian Governments and those experiencing negative social consequences in relation to those past laws, practices and policies
  • Perform the core activities of the National Link-Up Services that involves case management of CASG&FAC's Link-Up clients, including: client assessment, guidance and support, family tracing research, reunion management and on-going administrative support as required
  • Manage client's records under the supervision of the Senior Link-Up CaseWorker and in accordance with National Link-Up Services Program Manual for Service Providers, CASG&FAC's confidentiality aggreement, procedures and policies in relation to case management
  • Collaborate with Link-Up Counsellors to ensure that the clients are provided adequate and consistent emotional and social support from initial intake to the completion of their family reunion
  • Refer clients eho request counselling or further professional support following completion of their family reunion process to the Link-Up Counsellors to aid their journey of healing
  • Provide the Link-Up service to clients living in remote communities within CASG&FAC's service area
  • Promote the Link-Up service to relevant service providers and to members of the public, especially those living in remote communities within CASG&FAC's service area
  • Collaborate with the Link-Up Administrative Assistant to ensure that client's data is recorded on the Foxtrot Data Base System for Program Performance Indicators (PPI) purposes in collaboration with relevant staff members
  • Undertake research activites as required for family tracing, including the collection of archival records, relevant documents and oral evidence and provide an analysis of data for case management purposes
  • Organise and facilitate reunions in accordance with endorsed reunion management processes
  • Liaise with Casewroker's engaged in other State and Territory National Link-Up services to ensure co-ordination of case management following approriate protocols under the National Link-Up Memo of Understanding
  • Abide by all Memorandum of Understanding, in which CASG&FAC is a signatory, fulfill mandatory reporting requirements under both Commonwealth and Territory regulation in liaison with the Link-Up Counsellors and report to relevant authorities
  • Ensure the safety of all clients and identify clients at risk in liaison with the Link-Up Counsellors
  • Must have a current driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain a current Police Clearance Check

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrate ability to conduct research to assist clients in family tracing and reunion management activities including: collecting data, examinig and interpreting records.
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues affecting the Stolen Generations and general issues around the Central Australian Region.
  • A demonstrated ability to undertake research activities.
  • Demonstrated skills in basic computer operations, including recording data on data-base systems.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including conducting interviews and assessing clients needs and preparing reunion proposals.
  • A demonstrated ability to provide support and guidance to clients through-out the process of their healing journey.
  • A demonstrated ability to adhere to Best Practice Model, policies and guidelines to ensure effective services delivery.
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures
  • Demonstrated reliability.
  • Must have a current driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain a current Police Clearance Check
